Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected and used when you visit Date Engineer, subscribe to the newsletter, contact me, purchase a digital product, or enquire about coaching.
1. Data controller
The controller of your personal data is Bartosz, an individual based in Portugal and the operator of Date Engineer.
For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact: contact@dateengineer.com.
2. Data collected
Depending on how you use the website, the following data may be processed:
- your email address, subscription status, consent information, and newsletter activity;
- your name, email address, and the contents of messages you send;
- information needed to provide coaching or fulfil a digital product purchase;
- technical information such as IP address, browser, device, timestamps, and server logs.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Newsletter and occasional offers for coaching and digital products: your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw it at any time.
- Enquiries, coaching, and purchases: taking steps at your request or performing a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
- Website security, abuse prevention, and service reliability: legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- Accounting, tax, and other statutory duties: compliance with legal obligations under Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
4. Newsletter and ActiveCampaign
ActiveCampaign is used to manage newsletter subscriptions and email delivery. Where enabled, double opt-in requires you to confirm your email address before becoming an active subscriber. Subscription and confirmation records may be retained to document your choice and prevent unwanted messages.
Every marketing email provides an unsubscribe option. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
5. Service providers and recipients
Personal data may be processed by service providers supporting the website, including the hosting provider, ActiveCampaign, email infrastructure, and providers used to deliver payments or digital products when those services are introduced. Professional advisers or public authorities may receive data where required by law.
Personal data is not sold.
6. International transfers
Some service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers are protected by an adequacy decision, approved Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful safeguard.
7. Retention
Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent. Limited suppression and consent records may then be retained where necessary to respect your choice and demonstrate compliance. Enquiry, transaction, and technical records are retained only for as long as needed for their purpose or for the period required by applicable law.
8. Your rights
Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, or portability of your data, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Contact contact@dateengineer.com to exercise these rights.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Portuguese supervisory authority, Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD). Visit the CNPD website.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
The website may use technologies necessary for security and basic operation. If non-essential analytics, advertising, tracking, or embedded-media technologies are introduced, this policy and the consent mechanism will be updated before they are used where consent is required.
10. Automated decisions
Date Engineer does not use personal data to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
11. Adults only
Date Engineer is intended for adults. Personal data is not knowingly collected from anyone under 18.
12. Security and changes
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect personal data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
This policy may be updated when the website, service providers, or legal requirements change. The latest version and its effective date will be published on this page.
